Many families who live around Laskey Cabinet Company owe their nightly meals to the wages earned working for Mr. Laskey. Many a time Mr. Laskey went without a weeks’ pay in order to provide for those less fortunate than he.

His business venture started off small. His cabinet business began in the small wooden shed behind the company office. There Mr. Laskey refined and perfected his cabinet making techniques, and built the foundation for his current successes.

It didn’t take Mr. Laskey too many years before the demand for his chairs forced him to build a larger facility. Never one to spend money on himself, he next built the present-day company office, a structure that could double as his home, office and workshop. He toiled out of that building for the next 12 years before the ever-increase in demand and employees led to the building of the present mill. This structure was added onto three times over the years to make more space as needed. The final addition, the small storefront was added so folks could see the many styles of cabinets available for purchase.

Laskey Cabinet Company is a three-building kit comprised of the main mill, company office and tool repair shed.

The kit contains scribed basswood and scale stripwood from Northeastern Scale Lumber, windows and doors from Tichy Train Group approximately 100 metal detail castings, and loading dock castings made from Hydrocal plaster. An extensively illustrated instruction book takes you step-by-step through the construction process.
